The Design-Thinking-Line

In 2007, the fruitful collaboration between System 180 and the Hasso Plattner Institute at the University of Potsdam began, resulting in the company's DT-Line, which was developed according to the Design Thinking method.

The numerous brainstorming sessions that can occur in teams sometimes require extremely diverse room layouts, which is why the DT-Line is designed to adapt the entire space to your teams' current needs within minutes. Almost all furniture is equipped with casters, can be combined in minutes, or, like the System 180 whiteboards, is stackable in a convenient way, making it particularly space-efficient.

System 180 combines architectural expertise with the standards of a modern furniture manufacturer, guaranteeing clear, long-lasting quality and aesthetic consistency. Thanks to patented stainless steel connectors and standardized sizes, System 180 products can be combined in a variety of ways and offer maximum flexibility for modular office designs. Easy repair options and component interchangeability ensure long-term usability and sustainability in modern work environments.

From scaffolding to furniture

System 180 began in 1981 with the "System Steiner," developed by Jürg Steiner for flexible stage constructions in theaters. The system, consisting of robust steel tubes, was expanded in 1983 for furniture and architectural projects, resulting in the first roof-supporting structure. In 1990, it became "System 180" and set new standards in the German design market with the patent application in 1999.

Local and Sustainable

System 180 manufactures all of its furniture 100% in Berlin and uses exclusively green electricity, 20% of which is covered by the company's own solar panels. The production process is emission-free, water-efficient, and completely recycles all waste. Regional distribution and packaging made from recycled materials underscore the sustainable concept, which combines responsible design and environmentally friendly production.
